Plot Summary
Initial Incident
-Sanger Rainsford is on a yacht near an island called Ship Trap Island and falls into the water
-He is washed up to the Island and finds his way to a mansion owned by General Zaroff
Rising Action
-Rainsford meets Ivan at the mansion and Ivan threatens him with a gun untill General Zaroff shows up
-General Zaroff invites Rainsford in and treats Rainsford very well
-They get talking and General Zaroff tells Rainsford he has found a new prey to hunt
-Rainsford asks what this is and Zaroff tells Rainsford that he hunts humans
-Rainsford thinks this is crazy so he tells Zaroff that he wishes to leave at once and Zaroff thells him he has to stay and hunt or get whipped by Ivan
-Rainsford is let out into the jungle and starts running in a blind panic
-He finally comes to his senses and starts to act like a fox making loops that no man could follow
-Then he acts like the cat and waits to pounce
-General Zaroff follows his trail, in the dark, and finds out were Rainsford is but doesn't try to kill him because he wants to play a game, so Rainsford really is the mouse
-It goes on so that Rainsford injures Zaroff, kills Zaroffs best dog, and Ivan
-Zarrof gets all of his dogs and chases after Rainsford to the cliff, so Rainsford jumps off the cliff into the water
-Once Zaroff gets to the cliff he can't find Rainsford so he thinks he's dead
Climax
-Zaroff is going to bed and Rainsford comes out from behind the curtain
-Rainsford challenges Zaroff to a duel and whoever losses will become dinner for the dogs and whoever wins will get to sleep in Zaroffs bed
Denouement
-In the end Rainsford decided he had never slept in a better bed
